Meet the Bakers

Here's a little bit about each vendor.

Lauren Meakim
I am the proud stay at home mama of three beautiful boys, Maxfield (5), Wyatt (2.5), and Jackson (8 weeks). My creative itch goes back to preschool, when my teacher supposedly recognized a budding talent by the fact that I drew fingers on my people's hands...

I graduated from the Tyler School of Art with a degree in Graphic Design/Illustration. While I have an extreme appreciation for that field, it quickly became apparent it was not for me. Something about all the endless hours on the computer.... hmmm... how ironic.

Anyway, when I was pregnant with Max, I was overcome by this sudden love of fabric (hormones?) and I just HAD to learn to sew. Having never touched a sewing machine in my life, I started with an intricate (for me) pinwheel baby quilt to give as a gift. Not the best choice for a first project, but what did I know? I'm sure I would laugh if I saw that quilt now... it didn't matter anyway, I was completely addicted. Five years later, my passion for fabric is still growing, and I just love what I do.

If you'd like to get to know me better, please check out my blog, which is updated several times a week:

Anna Holler is a Center City, Philadelphia artist and mum to two wee ones. She's newly discovered Handmade Philly and is excited to be a part of such a talented group of craftsters. Anna's crafting shifts with the season, as she's never been able to knit a sweater in August. Whether knitting, painting, gluing, crocheting, scrap booking, baking, concocting, mixing, melting or coloring, Anna is in a constant state of creation. Life without making stuff just isn't worth living. You can find her on Saturday at the Secret Bake Sale and online in her Etsy shop, Fibergut! http://www.etsy.com/shop/mamaholler
